Indian Maritime University (IMU)
The Indian Maritime University (IMU) is located in Chennai. It was established on 14.11.2008 by the Indian Maritime University Act, 2008 (22 of 2008) It located in Utthandi in Chennai with campuses at Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai and Visakhapatnam. The Indian Maritime University, being the first of its kind in the country will cater to the educational requirement of the maritime fraternity. It is a teaching and affiliating University which will offer degree, post graduate degree and research programmes in all disciplines of maritime sector.

Registrar
Pay Scale : Rs.37,400-67,000 with Grade Pay of Rs.10,000/-
Qualifications : Master’s degree with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC prescribed seven point scales. 5% relaxation in qualifying marks at master’s level (i.e.) from 55% to 50% of marks, shall be given to SC/ST/PH candidates and those who are already in the University system (UGC order dt. 24.12.98)
Age limit : Not more than 50-years (relaxable by the Vice-Chancellor in deserving cases)
Retirement Age : 62 years
