Indian Navy
The Indian Navy (Devanāgarī: भारतीय नौ सेना, Bhāratīya Nau Senā) is the naval branch of the armed forces of India. The Indian Navy currently has around 170 major vessels in commission, including the aircraft carrier INS Viraat, along with operational jet fighters. Though the primary objective of the navy is to secure national maritime borders, India also uses its navy to enhance its international relations through joint exercises, port visits and humanitarian missions, including disaster relief
Indian Navy invites applications from unmaried male candidates for enrollment as sailors – sports quota entry – 02/2012 batch. Outstanding sportsmen who have participated at International/National / State / University level in Athletics, Aquatics, Basketball, Boxing, Best physique, Cricket, Golf, Football, Gymnastics, Handball, Hockey, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Weightlifting, Wrestling, Squash and Tennis.
Direct Entry Petty Officer :
Qualifications. 10+2 qualified in any stream or equivalent examination.
Sports Profiency : Team Games : Should have participated at International/National/State level at junior /senior level or represented a University in the Inter University tournament.
Individual Events :Should have attained a minimum of 6th positions in Nationals (seniors) or 3rd position in National (juniors) or 3rd position in the Inter University meets.
Age: 17 to 22 years as on date of commencement of course. Candidates should have been born between 01 Aug 1990 to 31 Jul 1995 (Both dates inclusive)
Senior Secondary Recruitment (SSR) :
Qualifications. 10+2 qualified in any stream or equivalent examination.
Sports Profiency.: Should have participated at International/National/State level or represented a University in the Inter University tournament.
Age: 17 to 21 years as on date of commencement of course. Candidates should have been born between 01 Aug 1991 to 31 Jul 1995 (Both dates inclusive).
Matric Recruits(MR):
Qualifications. 10th /equivalent qualified.
Sports Profiency : Should have participated at International/National/State level or represented a University in the Inter University tournament.
Age: 17 to 21 years as on date of commencement of course. Candidates should have been born between 01 Oct 1991 to 30 Sep 1995 (Both dates inclusive).
Candidates selected will be enrolled as COOKS or STEWARDS
NonMatric Recruits(NMR):
Qualifications. Passed VI th standard.
Sports Profiency: Should have participated at International/National/State level or represented a University in the Inter University tournament.
Age:17 to 21 years as on date of commencement of course. Candidates should have been born between 01 Oct 1991 to 30 Sep 1995 (Both dates inclusive).
Candidates selected will be enrolled as SAFAIWALA

Applications are invited from unmarried Male and Female Indian Citizens for Short Service Commission (SSC) Officer as Pilot/Observer in Aviation Cadre of Executive Branch of the Indian Navy for Course commencing December 2012 at Naval Academy.
Pilot
Pay Scale: 15600-39100 + GP 5400
Qualification: A graduate degree in any discipline with minimum 60% marks. Should have qualified Mathematics & Physics at 10+2 level.
Job Duties: On completion of basic flying training and on award of wings after commission, you would have an opportunity to fly Fixed Wing Aircraft or helicopters. This could be from an aircraft carrier, other ships decks or from an airfield ashore. You would be flying machines at the cutting edge of technology. You would actively participate in all facets of Naval Operations, i.e. Air, surface and sub-surface operations. An honorable, exciting & adventurous life awaits you as a pilot in the Navy.
Age Limit: 19 to 24 years born between 02 Jan 1989 and 01 Jan 1994; both dates inclusive.
Observer
Pay Scale: 15600-39100 + GP 6100
Qualification: A graduate degree in any discipline with minimum 60% marks. Should have qualified Mathematics & Physics at 10+2 level.
Job Duties: On completion of training, you would be part of the Indian Naval Aviation Arm. Your primary task would be to operate various state of the art equipment including sonics, sonars, radars and communication equipment. You would get an opportunity to participate in all facets of Naval operations onboard the “eyes of the fleet” the Maritime Patrol aircraft.
Age Limit: 19 to 24 years born between 02 Jan 1989 and 01 Jan 1994; both dates inclusive.
