Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) (Central School Organization) oversees the functioning of 1086 schools known as Kendriya Vidyalayas, out of which 1083 are in India and three are located abroad with 10,58,450 students as on 31.03.2011 and 49,286 employees (including outsoursed) on rolls as on 01.07.2011. It operates from its headquarters situated in New Delhi.
