Bank of Maharashtra (Hindi: बैंक ऑफ़ महाराष्ट्र, Marathi: बँक ऑफ महाराष्ट्र) is the premier bank of Maharashtra, operating in the country of India. Registered on 16th Sept 1935 with an authorized capital of Rs 10.00 lakh and commenced business on 8th Feb 1936. Known as a common man’s bank since inception, its initial help to small units has given birth to many of today’s industrial houses. After nationalization in 1969, the bank expanded rapidly. It now has 1375 branches (as of 31 March 2008) all over India. The Bank has the largest network of branches by any Public sector bank in the state of Maharashtra.

Rural Electrification Corporation Limited (REC), a NAVRATNA Central Public Sector Enterprise under Ministry of Power, was incorporated on July 25, 1969 under the Companies Act 1956. REC a listed Public Sector Enterprise Government of India with a net worth of Rs. 11,080 Crore as on 31.03.10. Its main objective is to finance and promote rural electrification projects all over the country. It provides financial assistance to State Electricity Boards, State Government Departments and Rural Electric Cooperatives for rural electrification projects as are sponsored by them.

Kashi Gomti Samyut Gramin Bank - Union Bank of India sponsored 4 RRBs in India of which 3 were in the state of Uttar Pradesh. These three Banks were Kashi Gramin Bank, Gomti Gramin Bank and Samyut Kshetriya Gramin Bank. Samyut Kshetriya Gramin Bank, with its headquarter at Azamgarh was established on January 06, 1976. It covered 4 districts (Azamgarh, Ghazipur, Mau and Ambedkar Nagar) with a network of 168 branches and 5 extension counters. A total of 929 staff members served a population of approximately 9092458 people covering 20 tehsils and 56 development blocks. By the end of March, 2005 there were deposits of Rs.11443674 thousand with 61:39 demand term ratio. The total advances of SKGB stood at Rs.2736661 thousand with CD ratio of 23.91% basic. The bank issued 13422 Kisan Credit Cards to farmers by the end of March, 2005.

It is owned by the Indian Government & primarily manufactures advanced electronic products for the Indian Armed Forces.BEL is one of the eight PSUs under Ministry of Defence, Government Of India.
