National Institute of Biologicals has been established as an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MOH&Fw)-Government of India. registered in January 1992 (vide No. S-22590) under the Societies Registration Act 1860. laid down in Bye-Laws of  the institute. The institute responsibly assures and reviews the quality of number of  Biological products available through domestic manufacturers or imports. The operations are carried out in the state of the art Facility of the Institute and in close coordination with Government of India regulatory authorities as Office of Drug Controller of India, Indian Pharmacopeia’s Commission. The Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI) established by the Government of India under the Ministry of Agriculture in 1947 became a member of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) family in 1967. Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS) is the first veterinary university in Asia, founded in 1989 in Madhavaram Milk Colony, Chennai, India. It is composed of the Madras Veterinary College, Veterinary College and Research Institute, Namakkal and the Fisheries College and Research Institute in Thoothukkudi and the Institute of Food and Dairy Technology, Koduvalli, Chennai-52. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) (Hindi: भारतीय विशिष्ट पहचान प्राधिकरण), is an agency of the Government of India responsible for implementing the envisioned Multipurpose National Identity Card or Unique Identification card (UID Card) project in India. It was established in February 2009, and will own and operate the Unique Identification Number database. The authority will aim at providing a unique number to all Indians, but not smart cards. The authority would provide a database of residents containing very simple data in biometrics. [more details]
