Paradip Port Trust - Paradip Port is one of the Major Ports of India  serving the Eastern and Central parts of the country. Its hinterland extends to the states of Orissa, Jharkhand, Chhatisgarh, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar. The Port mainly deals with bulk cargo apart from other clean cargoes. The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) came into existence from 1st April 1949 after its separation from the Commission for the States of Orissa and Madhya Pradesh, in accordance with sub-section (1) of section 261 of the Government of India Act, 1935, as adapted. Its constitutional status was pronounced with the promulgation of Constitution of India on 26th January, 1950. It is a Constitutional Body under Article 315 of the Constitution of India. Bihar Rural Livelihoods Project (Jeevika) (BRLP) - Taking cognizance of the enormity of problem, the government of Bihar has initiated a project on rural livelihood promotion with support from the World Bank. This initiated is implemented through a Society registered with Government of Bihar by the name of Bihar Rural Livelihoods Promotion Society (BRLPS). BRLPS through the Bihar Rural Livelihoods Project (BRLP) aims to improve rural livelihood options and works towards social and economic empowerment of the rural poor and women. The BRLP intervenes with the community through the following four themes or programmes: institution and capacity building, social development, microfinance and livelihood. [more details]

The Jute Corporation of India Ltd. (JCI) was set up in 1971 as an official agency by the Government of India with the aim to provide minimum support price (MSP) to the jute cultivators and also work as a helping hand in the raw jute sector. JCI was established by the Indian Government for the welfare of the jute growers, for example, granting them a certain amount of funds with the help of which they can have their own farming sector of jute. The JCI was first started as a small official agency at the beginning but then slowly it expanded its networking and now has almost spread in 7 states successfully for jute growing. The states which are eminent for jute growing in India include West Bengal, Bihar, Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, Orissa, and Andhra Pradesh. [more details]

Bihar Electricity Regulatory Commission (BERC) has been established by the Government of Bihar under Section 17 of the Electricity Regulatory Commissions Act,1998 vide Government of Bihar Notification no. 1284 dated 15th April, 2002. The Electricity Act, 2003 has come into force w.e.f. 10.06.2003 consolidating the laws relating to Generation, Transmission, Distribution and Trading and use of Electricity and for taking measures conducive to the development of Electricity Industry, promoting competition therein, protecting interest of consumers and supply of electricity to all, rationalization of electricity tariff, ensuring transparent policies regarding subsidies, promotion of efficient and environmentally benign policies.
